Mentoring is Required
Mentoring is a required component for all academic coursework and is an integral part of every program we offer. It is what moves mere theoretical knowledge (the head) to spiritual formation (the heart) and then to ministry practice (the hands).
It is important to understand that the regular meetings of the mentor with the mentoree are considered a part of class meeting time. Most ASM classes are 3 semester hours, which requires 2.5 hours of instructor contact time per week. Since the typical teleconference class meets between 1.5 to 2 hours, the mentoring component must fill in the gap of the contact time.
