Our Prayer Team

brickAt ASM we recognize that "unless the LORD builds the house, those who build it labor in vain. Unless the LORD watches over the city, the watchman stays awake in vain" (Psalm 127.1). Throughout Scripture it is evident that God is pleased to use the prayers of His people to accomplish His purposes. Jesus set the example in this (Luke 5.15-16). He also exhorted his disciples to prayer (Luke 18.1). The picture of this process given in the Book of Revelation is a powerful one:

" Another angel came and stood at the altar with a golden censer, and he was given much incense to offer with the prayers of all the saints on the golden altar before the throne, and the smoke of the incense, with the prayers of the saints, rose before God from the hand of the angel. Then the angel took the censer and filled it with fire from the altar and threw it on the earth, and there were peals of thunder, rumblings, flashes of lightning, and an earthquake." - Revelation 8.3-5
